Piko Mini Mogul and BR64

New to G Scale and looking to buy a loco or two. Looking for a review on the Piko Mogul and BR64 but haven't been able to find much so far. Did find a comment that the Mogul is just a generic model and that the valve gear might be a bit flimsy, but haven't found anything on the BR64. Any further comments?

A friend has both, which he has had converted to battery.

They are nice models but I feel that they aren't quite as robust as LGB....
 
Cant comment on them but have the 2-10-2 tank and can confirm that you need to treat it and all the other detail with care but the Piko locomotives are good looking models run well and are a good choice for converting to battery power for dead rail operation if that is your choice.

There was a review and extensive upgrade of a Piko 64 by someone who did an excellent job of making it into a very realistic and convincing model back in 2020 on this forum.
I think it was headed Piko BR64 review snd upgrade!
Definitely worth taking a look at !
