Hi all, just bought this little beauty from a seller on eBay Germany. Cost £67 including postage. Loco is well detailed and comes with lights, horn and a very good diesel sound unit. Most will already know that this is a rc battery operated unit which is just what the doctor ordered, as I'm looking to go the rc way. Batteries required are 1 pp3 for the hand unit and 6 AA for the loco. Hand unit is somewhat simple and a little quick on control (takes off at a click). Once again a really great loco for the money.

Rob,
I've been watching these come and go (coke_woman?), and just can't quite fit it into my system.
Being mainly 32mm, I've more or less given up converting things, and the 45mm shuttle can't quite justify it.
Still intrigued though.
There have been a couple of threads on here about detailing etc.

I bought the same from coke woman,it s a great little loco and the batteries last a long time, I also bought the 4010 & two carriages a steamer And the 4018 from her there was a problem with the 4010 and she sent me another one free

I've been looking at these too.
Does it have metal wheels ?
What are the sounds like?
Is it possible to have the engine noise sound on all the time?
Chris

The wheels are plastic the sound is very good, you can either have it on all the time or off all the time ,same with the lights,if you look in the video section I have posted a video,it might give you an idea if it s what your looking for

The wheels are plastic, but are the same size as both the earlier Playmobil RC locos and the even earlier track powered ones. The axles are the same size as before too, but have metal burs to assist the wheels staying on.

I have one that we loaded with diodes, and fitted metal wheels to, so that it can run from track power, without too much extra modification, but the gear train drive makes it very noisy! (Like an early LGB screamer!)

Someone did suggest using an LGB KOF? chassis instead for the conversion, which was a good idea, and would probably have produced a better loco, although the wheelbase is not identical, but we could probably have got away with that.

As supplied the sound or lights can be on, or off, but the horns are momentary only. I found the sound tinny and never use it on my RC version, although kids think it is great and prefer this loco to the earlier but noiseless orange and grey RC loco.

On my track powered version the sound/horn was lost, but kept directional lighting was retained, albeit with new parts replacing what was supplied.

There are some images of it in the layouts section under 'Guano Corner Railway'.

Thanks for the comments and video.
I was looking at it as a cheapish battery but r/c loco.
Sounds are an important part of the package.
