Playmobil transfer removal

Any tips please on the safe removal of transfers/decals/paint on the upper body part of my Playmobil loco. I want to fit new decals and not damage or discolour the original plastic . Playmobil 4010 red battery power bogie loco with pantograph

For transfers many say that brake fluid works well, but I have never tried it. But for paint gentle attack with white spirit could work fine providing the base colour is coloured plastic.
 
Thankyou for prompt reply. I know from bitter experience that brake fluid works very well on removing car paint, I will try a bit on the inside of the body shell to see if it affects the coloured plastic, and I think I have some white spirit tucked away somewhere. I also found two different types of "sticky stuff" label remover spray, I will try some of that.
 
Thank you for the information, I don't have an LGB track cleaning rubber, but I am am sure I can find a pencil rubber, that sounds very innocuous
The LGB one has a very fine grit pad on it.

It is very different to a pencil eraser....
