[blockquote]I've started a new thread on this, to avoid hijacking the George & Mildred discussion.[/blockquote] [blockquote][style="color: #3366ff;"] tagorton[/blockquote] [blockquote][style="color: #3366ff;"] What does worry me slightly Rob is the lack of power you cite with Accucraft....
[style="color: #339966;"]Thanks Tag, for the input.
[style="color: #339966;"] I was rather hoping someone might chip in a few hints.
[/blockquote] [blockquote][style="color: #339966;"]....it does indeed suffer from blow-by. On advice from both Mike Ousby and Ian Pearce, I fitted a new valve assembly and piston rings. This has made no discernable difference. It still stalls on the grades with blow-by.

[/blockquote] [blockquote]He seems quite happy going downhill:-[/blockquote] [blockquote]

[/blockquote] [blockquote]Addendum:-[/blockquote] [blockquote]Well guys, after posting this I gave Edrig/Owain (aka No 2 Ewan Dai) another run.[/blockquote] [blockquote]It may be a case of egg on face, but I think my last session of trying to set up the valve timing has worked.[/blockquote] [blockquote]He just had A GOOD RUN! Hauled the three coaches seen above with no stalling, and pulled up the hills well enough. It was only 20min duration, but that's OK for my line.[/blockquote] [blockquote]I'm feeling rather more positive about it all now, and I'd like to thank one and all for their input.[/blockquote] [blockquote]However, I do stand by my original comment that I find Roundhouse locos better suited TO MY LINE.[/blockquote] [blockquote]I probably ought to qualify that, and say slide valves are better suited.[/blockquote] [blockquote]Thanks centralists.[/blockquote] [blockquote]
