Prototype or freelance

I bought the loco pictured below from Bay models on Carnforth station a couple of years back.
It has become one of my favourites and frequently sees use on my railway. It has two LGB power bogies and with a metal body can take anything I throw at it. I was wondering if its freelance or based on a prototype. Any ideas?
