Rockery Ridge Depot Gets A Face Lift

Richie

Rio Grande Railroad , Mountain biking , Gardening
At the week end i had to remove my Depot and runround loop so that i could dig out an old Philadelpus bush that had got too tall and woody . I replaced the 3ft reed fence with a 5ft reed fence to cover nextdoors garage before i put the Depot back in place i thought it was a good time to give the paint work a face lift i went with a darker yellow this time to match the depot at Chama and a lighter brown for the frame work and the depot lights repainted black . Finished off by planting a small Ceanothus Pugets Blue in the place of the Philadelpus .

hwdy:bigsmile:! yes beavercreek send me a picture of coal mine this morning:love:,.,so tht why im trying like yr somewhere on yr layout;)? like mine where small dumper on the tracks going inside the small tunnels and come out with mine.,.
need to finished it off....need some materials.....lol
aslo im on the oo out for any peco tracks for display.....with scrap old switcher..;)

A very spruced up station Richie! I will have to get you to do some redecorationg when you come down to Beavercreek in July!

I was extending and amending track today....until the heavens provided a massive firework display...it was like world war III . I thought it was prudent to stop handling my layout track as we are on a hill etc etc:o:

Is the ceanothus a minuture variety? If not it will erupt like a volcano. I have 2 fortunetly both away from my railway, a prone, flat (supposedly) and the standard upright one. they require almost weekly pruning. If yours isn't a minuture , shift it quick!
I like the reed screening, looks like it weathers down quite well in your before picture. I have used the willow equivelent but have not been able to find any to extend down my other fence so I am looking at alternatives.

owsing atmoistphere, love it

Love the colour scheme (also liked the original too)

Hi Garry
Did have plans to plant a dwarf golden pine tree that i have but wifey wanted some thing with flowers so i still had a Ceanothus spare will be kept trimmed like all my other plants round the line will try and shape it so it grows up the reed fence .
Got the reed screening off E bay worked out cheaper than the garden centres .

Many thanks for all your kind comments
The cat does knock over my figures from time to time Pete they are fixed down with Blu Tack
