Roundhouse Katie and four years of......

Hi folks
Four years ago this week a certain device for live steamers was launched, and that device had originally been developed on and for a blue Roundhouse Katie. Well four years on, Katie is as good as ever, despite having had her smokebox removed countless times at shows. To prove it she is handling over 10kg (21lbs) of steel Cheddar coaches at Roy Wood's railway. The coaches were built up from kits - or at least part kits. They just need some transfers now.

You can see it here:

A super film Chris & HB to your chuffers:party:, the coaches are interesting 7lb's per coach is quite hefty, I think that would cause my Katie to wheel spin considerably with a 3 coach train on my line:nerd:

Thank you guys - and especially for the fourth birthday wishes:D

Scott - the coaches are very like the Swift Sixteen ones, though the latter are much more detailed and much lighter. These are laser cut from steel and were intended for the powerful Cheddar locos.

Garry - this is the max load for Kate on a relatively level line. I tried four behind her on my line and she just sat there spinning her wheels. It's lack of adhesive weight rather than lack of power though. Maybe if I filled the tank with lead.........
Cheers
Chris

Here is a photo of an Accucraft ' Ruby " with a little train behind it running at speed.
All you need is a little lead to stop the wheel slip. Yes it actually is pulling the train you see behind it.

The Chuffer changed my world, I really had no interest in Live Steam until they appeared and the engines suddenly came to life.
It is as important as the invention of the wheel in my mind

Well done Chris and congratulations.
