Scratch built gauge 1 Newbury

cocobear

time is not my friend
Below is my newly running Newbury as designed by Martin Evans. The chasis runs superb but it was a bear getting the fire hot enough to make sufficient steam. No I will begin to add detail.

Thanks for the kind words. lots of detailing left to perform. For the amusement of all, below is a link to the model engineer article and plans to build the Newbury.

I have added the hand rails and bright work around the windows. Next is lining and road name.

wow, nice looking loco that runs well. looking at the plans, its a strange burner arrangement, the usual gauge 1 practice being two or three 1/2" plumbing tubes with wicks protruding about 3/8". martin evans recommends wicks about 1/8" protruding so not surprised it was not hot enough. seems ok now tho, well done dave.... mart
