Servo driven pantographs in an LGB Krok

Hi guys,

I created this thread in response to Nodrog's request in the Zimo thread about controlling the pantographs with servos....

Below are a couple of pictures showing the servos attached to the underside of the krok roof. This idea came from a Gartenbahnprofi article--sorry can't recall the date.

Here you can see the little tab bolted to the panto:

And here you can see the underside showing the servos. Make sure you attach them with epoxy or something good because there is a fair bit of strain on them.

Nicely done! There are not many locos that I don't take a tool to.

Keith,

Cool, all we need now is a video of them operating ;D

Thanks for the topic, Keith.

Thanks guys, hope it helps out.

I haven't done a video of it, sorry. :(

One nice feature of the Dappen sound project is that the pantos are all coordinated with the sounds and the CV's all set for the servo driven pantos--just plug them in. You can adjust the CV's for travel if you don't want them going too high. So when you push the function button for startup, the pantos only go up when it's time to do so, then when you shut it down the pantos also drop when required with the associated sound--it's pretty neat.
Of course if you already have a decoder you can always just use a Massoth 8FL to run them.
