Silent LGB Mogul

Hello
I fitted MRC 1819 Steam Sound Decoders in both my Bachmann Anny and my LGB Mogul a few years ago. They have worked perfectly up until a week or so ago when the Mogul fell silent. It still runs fine but I cannot get any sound whatsoever from it including the whistle. Tried all the usual including loudspeaker, master sound CV and even a factory reset to no avail. Anybody got any ideas?

I had this issue with a diesel MRC sound decoder, and I think I reset CV 69 to get the sound back?

As I'm at work, I haven't the information to hand, and a search on Goggles hasn't helped either....

Thanks for that. I think you mean CV 49 which is the master sound control. Tried it to no avail.

My local Model Shop sells these.

You could ring them on 01284 753456 for advice....

As Gizzy says it's worth trying to reset the decoder.
Read CV8 it should give you a value of 143 for an MRC decoder.
If it does then write a.value of 1 in CV125.
Remember the decoder will be renumbered as 3 when reset!
