Slowest ever Billy?

Hi folks
Last week I received an email from Terry is Australia with a link to a video of his Roundhouse Billy. I started watching and thought ho-hum, but I stuck with it and then my jaw dropped. I had to watch it twice before I could believe it wasn't played at half speed!
Terry has worked on this loco a lot to get it running like this. If you have a few minutes to spare, see what you think....

You can find it here:

and on my website news page as usual.
Cheers

cylinder drain cocks and timed to perfection?...............

Certainly timed to perfection Andy, though I must admit that I had not thought about the idea that the drain cocks were helping. It has ball races on the axles and main rods, I do know...... and.......

The holy grail - steam in our scale behaving like the real thing. although, i bet there are a few out takes.

if steam really ran like this out of the box it would have a much wider following. In my experience their are good moments but a lot of watching "startled rabbits" on your railway.

For now, as someone with little time, I stick to batteries as a guaranteed realistic run every time

When I have retired, introduce me to this live steam Yoda from Oz.

Edit- Mel - Great minds think alike!

Yes but right at the very start of the video, the loco backed onto it's train superbly, even light engine (other than the tender).

That is sweet! Such realistic running and sound.
