Small pots of masonary paint

Most of my buildings are painted with Humbrol enamels (over primer) and 95% of them are fine, but some of the roofs need patching up fairly regularly. I want to try re-painting these roofs with dark grey masonary paint, but having searched most of our local DIY outlets, they only seem to stock tins that are way too big (and expensive) for what I want. Does anyone know a DIY store that sells match pots of masonary paint?
 
Hi Mel,I had the same problem,searched everywhere could not find small pots,as far as i know nobody makes matchpots in masonary paint.I asked local painter&decorator and he now gives me all his leftovers from jobs,can be 1/4 of a tin sometimes and all different colours.Worth a try if you know one.
 
Cant remember where I purchased the match pot I used for the cable car stations - it would heva been either BarQ or HomeWatsit.

Tried both of them mate, no luck round here.

I like your idea though Pete. I do know a couple of painters, I'll try a bit of an old scrounge. Actually, if they've got a few drops of various colours, that would be even better for making different shades. :thumbup:
 
B&Q sell small matchpots of masonry paint. Sandtex in 150ml tins. Great for outside buildings.
 
I've had a small pot of red Sandtex for years, it's great for red tile roofing even on small scale models.
 
I've invested in a large pot of black and a pot of white to make 50 shades of grey which coincidentally seems to be the read of the month down here. If you're passing Bream Mel you can have a clover tub of half and half. Rather messy to post. I'm sure this stock will see me out as my dear old gran used to say. It's also excellent for mortar on Jacksons brickwork paint on-rub off, (no pun intended) lovely job

Wickes do own brand small pots of masonary paint for around £3. I also have some small tins of Sandtex, bought fairly recently from one of the big DIY stores.
 
If you can live with black, why not a small tin of car under-seal ? Bit shiney at first, but you could sprinkle something on it while wet?

Like Mel, but for different reasons, I need a small amount of a couple of colours.... the only trouble, B&Q opened in Aberystwyth a week ago (replacing a defunct Focus at long last) but are now closed following the severe flooding we experienced - I will investigate when the water has been swept out :thumbup:

I got mine from the local Homsbase Mel, if your stuck I can bring a tin to Paul's on Sunday.
 
Thanks for all the feed-back chaps. I have tried our local B&Q, but couldn't find any small tins. Having said that, it is one of these big warehouse type places and I do hate searching around the place. It's fine if you wanted to build and fully equip an extension on your house, but a pain in the butt if you just want the odd small item.

Anyway, I've also been sent a link to this site which looks to have just the very thing. :thumbup::thumbup:

I got this at Homebase about a month ago , 225ml several colours in the range , I think they were £3 or two for a fiver

Look out for Sadolin sample tins in yer local DIY. I got mine from my local B & Q. Just the right size for painting our little empires and about 4 quid a tin or thereabouts if I remember correctly.
 
Re the link I posted above - two 75ml pots ordered Wednesday night, arrived this morning. By the time you've paid the postage and VAT, probably not the cheapest (£6.72 for this order), but impressive service and it saves petrol and time trawling round the local DIY stores. I'm certainly well chuffed.
