Askuze ME! But well maintained diesels shouldn't smoke!

Should be like me, I gave up when I was about 12!

I use Railking diesel scented smole oil (available from Tennents of Halesowen). It costs a little more but its worth it for the subtle evening aroma of "fleur et odeur de diesel".

If I switch the sound on as well then three of my senses receive nourishment!

In my experience the automatic cut off in Aristo smoke units can be a bit over sensitive in some examples.
The smoke units don't work until you have a minimum of 8 to 10 volts on the track and they tend to cut out with more than 18V. This range is O.K. as the loco speeds are reasonable, and they don't seem to go much faster when the track voltage is increased beyond 18V.
I also find that the smoke units work best if you initially fill with around 1.5 to 2.0 ml of fluid, that's around twice to four times the optimum quantity for an LGB unit (0.5 to 0.7ml).
