From 1978 on LGB produced at least 7 versions of this RhB workhorse, with several variations in the colour of the cab body and roof insulators. The loco for sale is an early 20400 manufactured in 1996. It has the D gearboxes (I think a DDI would become standard from around 2001) so decoders and/or sound would be fairly straightforward to retrofit. Of the two shades of brown cab colour typically found, this is the lighter brown version, with green roof insulators and carrying road number 413. Shortly after buying this loco, I found an Alpine Classic set and that was the Croc I have typically used, so this one stayed in its box. It is in flawless condition, as is the box. It comes with original instructions, a set of road numbers, 4 road number plates, red transfers for the lanterns and 4 unfitted gold bezels. I have put it on the test track - forward and reverse motion is smooth with all lights functioning. Despite being 26 years old, it could have come out of the Nuremberg factory yesterday!
The asking price is £425
P&P is not included, but for example Parcelforce Express 24 fully insured would be c. £25. I would be nervous about sending anything of value uninsured. I would be happy to send overseas and can investigate costs pending location. Aberdeen is not particularly handy for collection but I do venture down south occasionally so could possibly arrange a meeting point. Payment would be by bank transfer or PayPal (friends and family).
Please PM me if you’re interested.
