I've owned this model since it was released. I run it quite a bit but only indoors. I love the model but I can't really do it justice on a small indoor layout with R1 curves, pulling a few 2 axle coaches, so I'm hoping one of you lot can find it a good home. It really needs a long run pulling at least 3 or 4 4-axle coaches which on my layout would be a real tail-chaser. It handles R1 curves and points easily and doesn't look too bad with not much overhang because of the articulated frame, and with 14 pickups (10 wheels, 4 sliders) no danger of stalling on R1 points. The sound is great and the synchronised smoke from chimney and cylinders looks cool. The model has directional lighting, separately controlled cab lighting and illuminated running gear. I have not fitted the driver figure (included) or the coupling hooks (included). Instructions are included, and the box is in perfect condition. It has a Maerklin mfx sound decoder, which I have set to DCC with address 6. The model is complete and undamaged. I have removed the Heberlein brake fittings for transport but they are included. New models of this and other variants are still available for £1500 or so, so this saves you enough money to buy a few Saxon coaches. Postage might be steep if insured for full value, so collection would be better if possible, Ascot (Berkshire) area.
