Spares for LGB Locos

Hello
Could any body please tell me the best place to get LGB loco spares? I need some parts for a "Fat Boy" 20231 and for my F Units?
Thanks
Bill

Mike means Champex-Linden http://www.champex-linden.de/cl_champex-linden.htm but they are no longer the first port of call for spares, since the LGB spares inventory was sold off cheap to another dealer. That dealer is Modell Land http://www.modell-land.de/ . You want "Ersatzteile" from the menu on the left. The bits they have for F7s are here:
http://www.modell-land.de/ersatzteile-dieselloks-nycdiesellok-21570-c-169_180.html

Although the website is in German, if you e-mail them in English about the parts and ask if you can pay via Paypal, you will get a positive response. Postage to the UK from both German suppliers is pricey.

Alternatively, in the UK try Garden Railway Specialists (Princes Risborough) or Chalk Garden Rail (Kent).

Hello and thanks for the information.

I tried to buy some parts from Modell-land but failed when I tried to give them my address. The drop down menu for Country (land) does not contain any variation of the name of these isles. No Great Britain, United Kingdom or even England. It will not let you type freehand so I can only assume they do not do business with the Brits!!
Any ideas?

Bill

I got my spares from Jeff at Bridgeworks (brgmstrs@pacbell.net) in the USA. They do seem to have quite a lot in stock. They bought the spares from Silvergate(Ex LGBoA) when they folded.
Good luck

Hello Bill,

I managed to buy some parts off of their website which arrived only last week. I can't speak their language either.

You do have to register on there site, our country is Großbritannien

Once you have ordered your parts through their online shop and are committed to the purchase they will send you and email about paying by bank transfer. It is pretty obvious how their online shop works, because it works in the same way as many other online shops.

Ignoring the bit about bank transfers and instead pay them via PayPal but make sure you add a note as to what you are paying for.

I checked this procedure with them (Christel Ritzer) before I ordered and it worked OK for me.

If I can help in any way please let me know.

I have bought bits from Modell land. The hardest bit on their web site is finding the box to tick accepting their terms & conditions, down the bottom of the page. They ask for a bank transfer but will accept paypal.

Tried several times to respond to their emails but just cannot get through. Phone call was a multi-lingual failure. I tried to sort out what email addess to Paypal the monety to them but got nowhere!!
Help
Even worse, just spripped one of the drive axles of my LGB track cleaning loco and need a replacement. Where is the best place?

Having heard of similar issues with some people I chose to order from Model land indirectly using Grootspoor, see post number 5.
It took a little while for the order to arrive but all was present and correct and Grootspoor's service was good, they replied to my emails in excellent English.
