Probably best to leave the butane in the tin this weather.
A shame really because you can miss out on the more spectacular effects of live steam which is more difficult in the summer (even a UK summer!
The video shows two gauges. A 'Gauge 3' Princess Coronation (sorry about the LNER Teaks) and a 'Gauge 1 Duchess'
I know some one that tried frying bacon on the footplate of a G3 coal fired loco. There's an enthusiast for you .....!
(anyone wants to buy a messy engine?)

Gas firing at this time of the year is great Trevor, especially if you use a propane/butane mix. As you say the steam effects can be spectacular.
 
I always feel a little uneasy watching those trains running on the outside curve of the raised layouts, nether the less some great steam effects.

That track is VERY close to the edge!
I guess G3 is inherently more stable, due to the wider gauging??
