pictures of what i have worked on again this week, based on a photo of an advert in Narrow gauge and short line Gazette Sept/Oct 2010 for a plastic kit, i built it from, yes your there before i am, lolly sticks, bass wood and coffee stirers. i used some of the not so straight ones as i thought a stock yard would use any bits to make their pens.

That's bleddy excellent Dud - where did you get the old cow ? (don't answer that ;) )

That is exactly what I want to replace my cobbled together simple ramp.
A work of art Dud.
How much for knocking up another............

thats simplly beautifull

I like that - very authentic:thumbup:

great idea, instead of work, making models ??????? sorry was dreaming then. proberly get fed up with it though, would you? dont know

Hi Dud
You have a thing of beauty there and you have made me realise that my very roughly made non-prpototypical ramp/chute will not do so I really want to make one like yours but probably not as good!
I see that you have used coffee stirrers. Is it going to be for outside use? Will you soak it in preservative? If the answer is yes to the first twio questions....What glue did you use?

Hehe......Dudley's always liked big heffers ;)

Dud I'll chat to you on Thursday, but my my experience is that if you try to make a business (or even a part business) out of a hobby, the interest in the hobby will wane, if not disappear entirely - and that would be a tragedy.

answers
1) glue is either bostick or waterproof wood glue.
2) going to weatherproof with preservative.
3) it was the width of horns for the texas type cows and the door width on the cattle cars.
4) it is for outside, but as all my other buildings also for my loft railway, so interchangable.
all my buildings are on thin ply with bolts through bottom to push into modules.
