track cleaner made in 5 mins

Works for me, was wondering what the next project might be. All I need are two wheelsets. or, cunning plan, could it be integrated with something I have?
Whatever, a worthwhile concept.

Im still working on my motorised LGB tram conversion..... Though I keep moving my own goal posts, it will also need to be able to clean my overhead as well so it will be battery powered. I'll administer 100 lashes with a wet tram ticket....

Any chance you could post a picture? The internet connection is so slow here I can't see the video

If that gleaming track is anything to go by it works a treat. A bit cheaper than a TCL......
Thanks for the piccies

Terrific knock-up.........took me a few more minutes past the five but I can confirm it certainly does the job.......at present I have LGB, aluminum home made and a few Bman CH CHrap curves.......... needs a shorter wheel base for my small and tight layout....may adjust later ....currently in paint shop being dollied up and will be a conversation piece parked on a siiding......will post a pic when she's on line !!!! Thanks for the great idea....... Mal R.........

I've heard good and not so good things about the LGB track cleaning loco. I would speculate that it depends on the layout, whether the loco will be a star or will it get the hook.

At the risk of offending the track power crowd, I would say that you may want to have a look at battery power. You mentioned liking technology. There's quite a bit that can be done with battery power these days. G Scale Graphics has some innovative products. The Railboss Plus 4 has the capability of keeping two or more trains running on the same track from ever meeting one another.

It would work with an LGB Mk1 track cleaner as well - might need a little bit of weight on the plastic block :nod:

Thanks to mbiff my 5 minute track cleaner is on line ...more painting required and the job it does is 100%......still experimenting with papers but the wet & dry seems to do the job......knocked up a little shunter for the odd jobs , just had a first coat but impatient to get it on track so it may be a while for that finishing coat and extras........
