That's a pretty little loco! Do you know the price?

Jon.

Euros 279.95 (plus 22 Euros P&P) at Grootspoor in the Netherlands.

Re:Train Line DEV V3

Thanks - anyone else having trouble getting to the Grootspoor website? Have they moved sites? Grootspoor.com doesn't seem to be working at all, it goes straight to the host's placeholder page.

Jon.

Re:Train Line DEV V3

Nice looking loco. Yes, I am having trouble reaching their site also. I know I have visited the site before, but I don't have it bookmarked.:(

Yes, they are working on the website. Don't know when the new one will be launched though.

OK, thanks - it's not very good business practice to take the old website down before the new one is ready, though!! :@

Do they have some kind of temporary site that I've missed?

Jon.

Re:Train Line DEV V3

Now that TL45 have got their V3 out, does anyone know if their promised starter set (V3, 2 flat cars and a decent oval of R3 and straight track) will be out soon? Just thinking that this might be better value than buying the V3 on its own, since unlike the LGB starter sets the track included will actually be useful (ie: not just a circle of R1 curves that every serious buyer has too many of already!).

Don't know yet. Let's hope it arrives before summer.

Could you post here the link that you are currently using to get to the Grootspoor website, please? I may be using the wrong one....

Jon.

Re:Train Line DEV V3

Jon - it's working fine for me at work: http://www.grootspoor.com/

That is quite a pretty engine - price seems reasonable - although seperate wire handrails for the hood panels would have been nice. It seems to look a lot nicer finished then the pre-production photos had suggested.

Is the one in the starter set not a lower spec? I'm sure I read they (TL45) would be offering a detailing pack for the starter set version on Gscalenews?

Interesting - when I clicked your link I got the same default admin page as last night (probably cached in my machine), but refreshing it got me to the proper site after all. They must have been having some trouble last night, which is now fixed.

Grootspoor are doing a lot of testing on their new web site, including having real life customers check it out for them. I have been one of those customers and provided feedback. There are still some issues, but when they're fixed, the site will be one of the best G scale shop sites around.

By the way, the TrainLine starter set has a recommended retail price of Euros 380.

Agree, it is looking great. I might even use the website for ordering from now on. In the past, I always ordered via e-mail.

Re:Train Line DEV V3

:thumbdown:NO GO here either.

Re:Train Line DEV V3

The TL45 V3 looks poor quality to me. Doesn't even look as good as the Accucraft Baguley. Why are the cab steps wrong? Surely it would've been easier to model them properly. The handles on the boxes on the framing are moulded tabs instead of proper handles - how much more difficult would it have been to do them properley?

Re:Train Line DEV V3

The axle boxes look quite plain compared to that photo above as well - it looks 'cheap' even though it isn't... but as a small firm breaking into the locomotive market, I hope people support it and see it as a good platform to upgrade and add detail.

I agree James. Photos of the real thing on DEV's website show lots of detail below the running board. http://www.museumseisenbahn.de/index.php/de/fahrzeuge.html
Euros 280 is way beyond what I'm prepared to spend for a 4-wheel diesel loco, irrespective of manufacturer. My personal "value" for an item such as that is GBP150 at most, or about Euros 180 at today's exchange rate.

Plain or non existent? ;)
Nice overall shape but let down by overpricing for the detail level really. Mind you an enterprising manufacturer could make a nice detailing set of cast parts for £15-20.
I wouldn't pay more than £200 for something like this and it's why I don't have the LGB Harz Kof as I felt the HF130 gave you a lot more for your money.
