A quick update on this loco. Modell-land in Germany are offering a plain version of the V3 for Euros 174.95. Not one for me, but others may like it:

I suppose, at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. You ask for cheaper - you get cheaper - with even less detail.
The detailing on the Harz Ko.II is pretty good (especially compared to this) but its over £300.
I fear our demand for cheap may backfire (not just in trains) and everything will be tat.
