I recently acquired a couple of trams from the UK, and took them to my pal Jerry's Spa Creek & McKendrick RR to see how they run. Here's a short video taken by Jerry.
The "Toby" has a Bluerail receiver driven from my Android phone. The phone app also generates steam sound (or diesel if you set the right paramters.) It originates in the loco by popping a bluetooth speaker inside it!
This vaguely euro looking device is made from a couple of lococabs glued back-to-back, with a Piko 4-wheel truck underneath. I forgot to oil it so we didn't run for long, though it was very smooth.
[You can't see it, but the boiler and other parts inside are all loose. Shipping from the UK made the metal weight come loose and it knocked the rest of the bits apart. Anyone know how to get inside it?]
The other tram is a wooden scratch build, also from the UK, of the usual Wisbech & Upwell, aka Toby. It has a Bachmann trolley 4-wheel truck which seems to have seen better days.
