If any of you are in, or within range of, London this coming weekend, I can confirm that there will be G Scale at the London Festival of Railway Modelling, being held at Alexandra Palace on 15th & 16th March . . . in the shape of the Whiteleaf Tramway.

This is the modular layout operated by the Buckinghamshire Garden Railway Society (affiliate member of the G Scale Society) and, this weekend, will use three of the "modules" from the selection available, together with connecting sections, to create a 53-foot long end-to-end tramway, complete with overrhead catenary.
While it will be operated using analogue control at Ally Pally (plus radio-controlled battery-powered trams), the layouts are capable of being run under digital control, with or without catenary, to offer a tramway, an electric railway or a steam/diesel railway, while its modular form allows a variety of configurations from 80-foot end-to-end (Ally Pally March 2023) down to a 17-foot by 9-foot U-shape (Wymondham, last weekend) or even a 7-foot high layout using a rack line (Ally Pally March 2024).
If you do come along, be sure to say hello. We are in the West Hall.
Future outings are in Southampton and Guildford, both in June. Details to follow
Best wishes
David
