Trenarren Station lamp. PW 94
I?ve been looking for my ideal platform lamp for a little while. I hadn?t come across this Company before but having done so I find they have a good range of things by way of general ?Railway Furniture?.

The first thing I noticed was that the package was a good weight; inside most parts were white metal. The main stanchion has a good look of an old fashioned cast iron lamp standard with a decorated bottom end, very typical of street, or railway lamps of the late 19th or early 20th century. Through the middle of the casting is a thin copper tube to add strength and for ease of wiring. The cage section is cast clear resin with a drilling for a grain-of-wheat bulb (supplied). The top cap is white metal and has a separate finial.
Assembly is very simple and the supplied instructions very straightforward. I found that mine needed very little in the way of cleaning up, all the obvious flash etc. having been removed during manufacture.
The same lamp can, I think, be supplied ready painted.
For those that wish, it would be very simple to convert it to LED lighting, instead of G-o-W.
I have one minor criticism, and that is that I would have liked the copper tube to have been longer at the base, perhaps another 10mm or so, to enable it to be used to ?plant ? the lamp. I don?t feel gluing alone is appropriate or strong enough for an outdoor railway.
Overall I?m thoroughly pleased with this item and will be adding some more to it soon.
I hope to get round to adding some more pics to this post when my lamp is completed and situated.
