D is a very short length of Playmobil track.. Quite useful, occasionally.

PhilP.

B and C are Bachmann steel alloy track joiners, and plastic track clips.
They come with Bachmann train sets.
I don't know what A and D are.

Perhaps another photo of just 'A'?

There is a Playmobil part, that allows a train to run off the Playmo plastic track onto the floor.. But I think that is both rails, and not individual 'troughs'.

I think "A" might be a part of Bachmann alloy track. There is something like that in one of the rails at each end of a piece of track. It slides inside the hollow rail and helps guide a connection between rails. I had one that came out of the track once, but I forget if it had that little "T" shape on the side which is not supposed to come out of the rail.

Might that actually be a re-railer? RC railroad track re-railer / alignment tool - mundobil

The only other non-track piece I know of to go with the plastic track is a plastic track to metal track connecter so you can combine the two types of track when running the r/c trains.

I took some more photos of A, though I really had problems getting a good contrast, despite several attempts. The item in the centre is "A" with "B" fitted, it may be coincidental that it is a good fit:

Hm wonder if it is for a more permanent connection between track. Doing something like the LGB 11500 Track Brackets but for each joiner rather than the centre of the sleepers like the 11500 does.

I wonder if the combination of the two parts, would allow you to join their metal track, to their plastic track?
