This Bigboy looks positively agressive.
Does anyone else have angry and agressive looking steamers?

Wow - now that is impressive! I don't know how you felt after the filming, but I felt exhausted after watching it :D
Cheers

Hi Chris And what about the poor old Mikado driver? He's on clockwork only from now on!!

What a beast! It reminds me of a story that a friend of mine used to tell, when he used to work a turn on a parcels train southbound out of York. It was almost always a 9F, he & his driver used to delight in the looks on the faces of the passengers, on some Edinburgh/Kings X express as they stormed past them. The express usually being cleared to go about a minute before.

Indeed very impressive, I'd love to own one but I fear ive been tainted a little by Galaxy Railways anime, i'd be tempted to somehow string it up from the cealing and build my own weapons coach.. a beautiful engine in any universe..
although I guess should I judged to be a total loon, I should include a video of what galaxy railways is heh..

Fantastic video Trevor looks like that Bigboy had plenty of steam as it seemed to be blowing off for most of the video love the shot passing the passenger train made it look as if it was standing still

WOW oh WOW!!
Out of interest can be run with whatever it burns turned back a bit, it just doesn't quite look right blowing off like that as such speed. Not that I know anything about bigboys!
Loved the over taking. Would it run at a crawl?

Yes, the burners were a bit high which I admit to, but holding the camera in one hand, and and fiddling in the cab with the other can sometimes be a bit tricky. To be honest I was more concerned with the engine priming as the bypass was hard closed and looking in the tender you are aware of the volume of water thats being pumped into the boiler. The engine ran for 45mins or so and although the gas was a touch high there was plenty left in the tank as it came back onto the shed. But then it is a BIGBOY!
