844 stopped for maintenance. A friend pulled up on a siding with his speeder and offered to give me a ride alongside as 844 pulled out of town. Great fun!

I see that she looses her feet for a few revolutions at minute 1.06, but not catastrophically, the engineer kept her Under control, couldn't see or hear if he backed off on the regulator, or sanded, or both!

Fantastic

What fun, what fun, what fun.........damn excellent that!

Nice experience for you Jerry. We all need to thank railroads like the Union Pacific for keeping these beasts alive.

You will recall, that 844 for a time carried the road number 8444.... here's why, the number was needed for this little hunchback GP 30. Of course, 844 is no longer on the UP roster, so 844 is now 844, again, and 844 is out to pasture (desert, actually) not far from Las Vegas.
