The intention was always to have a few buildings behind the tracks to represent the small town of Ardnacraish. There was a narrow strip between the railway and the fence - not ideal (particularly with a trellis post at one end!) but it would have to do. For a long time, a lone Tuxcraft low-relief building tried valiantly to hide the post:
A Cain Howley building was acquired at the Peterborough show this year, painted, gutters/drainpipe added and tried out for size:
Then one of my good lady's periodic reorganisations of the garden saw that piece of trellis and it's post taken down. Good news - I didn't have to hide the post; bad news - the metpost base was too close to the railway to dig up without disturbing the track.
A rummage around produced a Piko kit, bought many moons ago but not assembled as I moved away from US outline. The basic kit was quickly put together, and it fits nicely over the metpost. It's still got a few bits to be added (porch, signage) - it will become the Ardnacraish Mission to Seamen.
Pendlebury walls have been painted and positioned - still more to do, but progress is being made!
