After a really enjoyable visit to Barrow Hill Roundhouse I decided to visit Peak Rail at Matlock as it wasn't too far away. I arrived just in time to catch the train from Matlock to Rowsley. The train was pulled in the front by a steam loco - Waleswood with Class 44 "Peak" Penyghent pushing at the rear. So this was the second trip of the day with a Class 44/45, something I have never done before. Penyghent was in tip top condition and sounded fantastic. Here with the photos:
