Website and Llechfan Garden Railway

Hi folks
Anyone trying to view videos on my website will know that the medis player software failed about a month ago and they all showed a blank screen. Well I have now totally re-written the website in the latest HTML5 and so the 150 plus videos all now play - and on iPhones and iPads too. I have taken the opportunity to make it all a bit more logical and have added links to lots more of my projects for those who fancy a warts and all read :)
I have not been out videoing while glued to the computer, but luckily Steve Smith visited Llechfan, at Towyn's Wharf station with his Roundhouse Hunslet. You can see his great video on my news page here:

Also I have had a couple of reports of browser problems with Windows XP and on my own Firefox 22 on my iMac (it was fine yesterday but not today....). Please do let me know if you have problems viewing the site at www.summerlands-chuffer.co.uk
Cheers
Chris

Hi, Chris. I tried all of the main links and one of the videos and they all worked fine. I'm using an iMac, 10.8.4, and Safari 6.0.5. I can try on Firefox 22.0 if you want.

Thanks George - it would be good if you would try Firefox. It seems to be just mine, but all the formatting gets jumbled - which is off as it was written using Firefox and was fine until day two......

Yes please Shawn - more videos - nice and slow please :D The website video players have been down for a month since Youtube changed its interface software - and the promised fix never came........:(
All fine now after about 50 hrs work :)
Cheers
Chris

Chris, I didn't have any trouble with Firefox. I checked all of the main links from Home and many of the sub-links. Only a few were checked on the pages that had many links such as the Fitting Notes. I also checked some of the videos. They seemed to run fine even when I was running four different ones at the same time on the same page.

I had a minor problem with Safari where I had a horizontal scroll. A reload of the page fixed it. It was probably something I had done previously on another web site. It seems ok now.

You seem to be good to go! :)

Thanks George - I really appreciate the testing, and I must admit that I had never thought of watching four videos at once :D
Cheers

Chris, some years ago I used to destruct test software and hardware for a little known computer company in Cupertino, California. :D

Ah-ha - so that's how they became the biggest brand on the planet :D

It's funny but I had never heard of the place until I got an iPhone a few years back, and then I saw this town listed where it always seemed to be sunny......

Thanks again
Chris

Cupertino is about four miles from here. And, it's still sunny. We have two seasons, wet and dry. Now it's dry which means sunny. Our wet season starts in late fall and goes into late spring. I like the rain, so I do get a bit tired of seeing the sun all of the time with only a few clouds in the sky. It does make it easier to plan outings, though. BTW, the temps have been in the 90's for a week or two. :'(

I'm no more than about 10 miles from many of the big tech companies, Apple, Google, Yahoo, Cisco, Jupiter Networks, etc., etc., etc.

Chris,

Having emerged from the dark ages of Windows XP I now have a new control centre running Windows 8.

Viewing your site with Google Chrome all appears fine!

Just need some more Films from Elmtree

George - sounds like you are in the right palce for your line of work - and 90 degrees sounds good - but only in small doses!

Keith - I look forward to adding more Elmtree vids!
Cheers
Chris
