what to do with the loops

Re:what to do with the loops

If a tunnel sounds bad (the reasons have been given here before) I would still put something tall in the middle to hide the back of the loop thus making it look less loopy  Mountain, tall building, multi-storey car park etc

Re:what to do with the loops

if not a tunnel

how about some sort of stone cut and planting-ie a stone 'gorge', retaining wall , or the like,  if you will for one third of the  end (plenty of overhang clearance)-tie it in with your existing back wall-perhaps a pedestrian overpass, or path with fencing,  or some sort of flume or pipe just for interest -the stones could explain why the change in curve

and a nice shrib arrangement-thats a smallish shrub

i think it would add a lot of interest without being trite or having some centered item as the 'hub'-even a small pasture, field, garden, very small hut etc

Re:what to do with the loops

Mike's pub- with road bridge access over the railway- worked brilliantly at hiding the tight corner. Anything to hide the train for a brief moment works well, but if it's got lots of detail then it's even better at distracting your attention.

True, a pub always manages to distract me :rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf:

That's exactly what I meant, something in the middle to hide the back of the loop. You could even add a tunnel portal with only the last visible bit actually covered over for greater effect.
