Wires fell off PH Hobbies transformer series ps6

Hello! I have an old g-scale train that was set up years before me. In moving the transformer, the wires must not have been well attached and fell off. I tried to replace them, and the train would only move backwards. After taking them off and trying again a few times, it eventually stopped moving at all. The transformer is still receiving power, but it seems that the track is not. Hoping someone can help me figure out where I went wrong! Thank you!!

Both wires should be on the track power terminals....

Welcome to the Forum..

Yes, the first two terminals are track-power, then a 'blank' (where the vertical line is) then 18V AC for accessories, another 'blank' and then the last pair give a fixed DC voltage.

PhilP.

That setup at the rear is awful, it is as said by Mr Software that the left 2 are for track power, the next 4 are for accesories at 18v the 2 at the right for fixed DC. The lines showing the separation of the outputs somewhat out of correct orientation. Fixed DC could be used for lighting but I would assume at 12v but somewhere ther would have been a manual to state this.

Judging by the apparent age I would not stress it by setting up other things on it just using it for your track power.

I would also suggest cleaning off the dust from the terminals with a softish paint brush.
