Well, someone got the "sort-of-Garratt" for 80 quid, no takers for the Fairlie-thing and the Stainz Crane (which isn't a bad idea, there is a (dockyard/steelyard?) crane loco at Bressingham based on the same concept).

I can't help wondering if they were actually a little better than they looked in the photos - taking the pics with them laying on their sides (hence all "floppy" at the articulation pivots) may have made them look a lot rougher thatn they are, would have been interesting to have seen them in running position on a length of track. With a repaint and some extra detailing, they might have been quite presentable?

I know that if I was selling a scratchbuilt or converted item, I'd try to show several photos from all around it so that the buyer knew what they were really getting.... but then again maybe they WERE that rough after all, so the less shown the better for the seller....
