A new for old replacement stockyard on The Beaver Creek Railroad

I liked the first version, more contemporary fencing, seen all over the west.

Your new construction looks great, and from an earlier era.

Great looking figures. Want some cow men!

Thank you for the compliments lads....
but I first posted the thread about the 'replacement' stockyard back in July 2016.
I wanted a more 'old time' design and also the plastic railings were beginning to fracture all over the place as the plastic is definitely not UV resistant.
The plastic was also a nightmare to paint as it was the 'greasy' feel polypropylene.

As to the scale of the 'livestock' and the 'cowboys' The two on horseback are Schleich but their 'steers' are too large for my needs so I have used repainted Britains' 1/32 instead.

Elsewhere on the layout I have used 1/24 scale cowboys on horseback.
The cat seems to think that they are its pets....

Cheers Casey.
The stockyard has been in the open now for two years non-stop and so far it has stood up to weather, animals and my clumsiness when cleaning around the 'steers' in the 'paddocks'.
It is very much weathered now. I will give it another soaking of Cuprinol clear spirit 5 star wood rot protection but as I used western red cedar, it would probably not need it.

I have had a good look at your 'rider' set and I will look out for them as they would go well in another place that I have in mind.
I have a few cowboys dotted about in the 'Broken Ridge Farm' scene:

Better view of the cowboys at rear/side of the barn.... sorry about the farm cat.... obviously been on the growth hormone..
