A number of stupid questions - yes, there are some stupid questions!

Not only "Silly questions; a lot of stupid answers also....!!
I have a whole supply of answers, stored away waiting for questions of all types.....fire away....with blanks, please...!!

OK Fred...

Which do you think is better?
Upper-quadrant, or lower-quadrant signalling?

(Ducks for cover..) :giggle::giggle:

I go mostly for "Middle quadrant" myself, or for more simplicity, searchlight style, with no moving parts. I call it "Middle of the road" signaling....now the main problem is to get train crews to look at the signals, and hope they may choose to pretend to obey them....!!
Often when they actually obey a signal; it causes total confusion, in the dispatcher's office, and shuts the railway down, so everyone can go to the local, for a pint or three, just to calm the nerves, and renew fiendships...er...friendships. !!

It's rather early in the morning (05:44 EDLST) here in Ottawa, and my body is still telling me, since it is still darkish, that it is rather late at night. I thing, when in doubt, as I am, the best move is to have a nap, and hope the coming day sorts itself out......if it doesn't rain; I have a railway to try to operate, as its chief dispatcher. I hope the required bottle of Laphroaig (sp) is still on my desk waiting...!!
