Airplane motor with G Scale Train Railways esc?

Can you use an airplane motor with an rc car esc?
I've got a TomCat G30CC Motor TomCat G30CC 6432-200KV Outrunner Motor for 30CC Gas Plane and I want to make the Railways with it. As I understand, the main difference between brushless airplane motors and brushless Railways motors is that they're more open to the elements. But if that's not an issue, and the current and cell counts match up, then it should work right?
I'm specifically looking at getting a TomCat Brushless SMART ESC to run it.
 
I think RPM may be an issue so worth checking that out compared to model rail motor.
