Alco S4 diesel - USA Trains - spare parts

I have an Alco S4 Diesel loco by USA trains and I am very pleased with it. I have managed to convert it recently to battery power and it gives a good performance. I have managed to get the battery and controls all in the loco.

Recently I lost the smoke stack - I think the loco must have scrapped against some of my overhanging trees to dislodge it. I am kicking myself now as I should have glued it in position as I never use the smoke facility. I have a leaflet from USA Trains and the part is advertised at $3.

Have any members any experience of ordering parts for this type of loco? is it feasible to order spare parts from the |USA? Is there a British stockist?

Dave I have ordered spares from USAT several times. Only problem that I ever encountered was the postage costs. Your 3 Dollar part will probably cost you closer to 15 dollars by the time it gets here! It would be a good idea to ask around to see if anyone else needs spares and share the postage (?)
I'd be happy to chip in, as I need GP-30 smoke stack.
 
There isn't a British stockist. I have ordered spares direct with no problem but the postage will be high for one item. One chance might be to ask Dragon. If you are a customer of his he might just be persuaded to include that part in the next order he raises on USAT.
 
USAT provide an excellent service for spare parts, but it may be worth while sending them an email first and make sure they actually have the part there. I ordered a load of GP7 bits from them and even they were not able to supply a couple of bits.
 
They are excellent for supplying the parts, provided they are in stock. I have been in contact with Mike in parts (he is looking for a SD40-2 body for me as I am kitbashing an SD70 into an SD50) and if he finds one, I will be having that posted over. Some small parts would easily fit in.
