I wake up confused, usually wondering what day it is, then as the day passes, I just get more and more disconnected with reality.

It it me? Do I come here often. I used to be a TOG, still got the sweatshirt.

Your partner is called confused Alec ?????

It's loverly, the train set that is. Here's a link to a German forum with pictures as well: http://gartenbahn-forum.de/
Click on the link "http://gartenbahn-forum.de/s.php?m=318562 < Link To LGB Allegra auf der Intermodellbau". Choose "flache ansicht" at the lower left too see all posts, pictures are in the first posts. Text in German, but pictures are without language barriers.
Looks like there's gonna be quite a bit of detailing on the set.
In the posts they talk about LGB using a Märklin decoder in this set for the first time. Time will tell what it is, speculation is that it is some sort of mfx-decoder similar to what Märklin is using in their Spur 1 product line.

That RHB Allegra is a superb beast, what LGB have done is to make a superb looking model of one. One can only hope that the current QA Procedures will do it justice, for sure they will not be inexpensive! Makes me wish that I had gone down the RHB route when I started with LGB. But then I would need to string up wires all over the place. I have enough to do on my new Garden as it is with 80 ft of It and a new line to build.

Apparently the beast will come in around £1500 - better get another newspaper round. What really worries me is how to pick the whole thing up, assuming that it's permanently coupled as a set.

£1500 for 3 coaches and a pair of motor blocks!!! Count me out. I think a Stainz at 90 Euros is just a tad better value.

Sounds a good price to me?
But then again, I like it
