I'm a lost cause! I cannot master the camera - photography should be easy in this day and age (as in idiot proof) - I just look at the screen to see if I've got the area in view. The multitude of pictograms, warning beeps, etc are just an irritation for the likes of me.

You may be able to reduce the amount of information shown on the screen. Which camera were you using?

So, yesterday, as I set about servicing my stock, I finally tackled it...

I cut all the sections of rail out using side cutters, then trimmed the mountings with a sharp blade (so I could centre the drill bit - 2mm OD).

Then It was a just a case of drilling out the mounting brackets to take the 1.83mm brass rods (K&S - approx 300mm long before trimming to suit). ...

The other side was tackled in the same way. The plastic is rather soft and tends to clog the flutes of the drill bit as well as distorting - so the sharp blade is needed yet again. The result is a tightish hole which, if it had been metal, would have resulted in a sloppy fit! So of the three pieces supplied, I managed to make the cut bar for the front, plus four grab rails for the other "re-chassied" (RGS) loco.

Ah, idiot proof camera..... this idiot could get it to work.
Point the middle of the camera to where you want it to be in focus, press the shutter half way down (and keep your finger holding it there), move camera to frame your picture, then press shutter the whole way.

There's a little rectangle in the middle of the focussing screen, see that is over what you want to be in focus, then follow Gavin's instructions from "press the shutter half..."
