Another roof removal query - RueBB this time - LGB 35361

Santa was kind enough to bring me a RüBB coach (LGB 35361) and now I'd like to install some passengers.

I can't however remove the roof. There are no open windows to apply the usual trick of easing the side to allow the clips to release. I can't see any screws anywhere. I can't get any purchase via the doors. There isn't even a hint sheet included as there is with some RhB coaches.

Does anyone have any suggested experience and/or solutions for this problem?

Is there a screw near invisble top if the curve under the roof at each end? Some LGB have this, if not then I is stumped.

If your model is a reliveried version of LGB 36359, might this picture from the spare parts leaflet for that model (http://www.gbdb.info/data/zeichnung/LGB/36359.pdf) point you in the right direction?


I have no personal experience of this model, though.

I've had similar problems with my 30510's. I was starting to wonder if the previous owner had glued them down

The answer is in the LGB diagram showing a knife. Use a fine knife between the roof and the side to spring the sides outwards as you would if you had an open window to push the sides out.

Better than a stab in the dark, this poster has come in the nick of time, as a sharp reminder, if not complied with, the management could get get quite cut up about it.

Many electrical tool kits come with a small tough flat ended too that can be pushed between the gap to loosen things. If all else fails an old credit card may do the job.

I had to unscrew it through the main frame.

Could you expand on that a bit? Not quite clear to me what you did.
