ASTER SHAY. Live steam from the 1970s

Hi
Looks like the Shay is a dud, get it steams with the blower to 1.5bar and then you crack open the blower as soon as it reaches 2bar , the safety goes and as soon as your put it in gear and open the regulator you lose all steam pressure, I live 15 yards from the River Wye after 2 days of trying to get this loco moving (on a rolling road) it may well find itself at the bootm of the river

Many thasnks for all the feedback

Sounds to me like there could be a number of things wrong with it - none of which are insurmountable. But you DO need some help with it before you heave it into the river. That IS a vintage loco, and to expect sterling performance from a loco with no obvious provenance is unrealistic. They are picky when running properly, TBH.

Is there any way you could get it over to this part of the world? Then I can take it on the Geoff Calver for you.
