Lots of lovely lots - and just down the road for me. But please don't tell everyone, :lipssealed: we don't want too many competing bids

Gosh this Auctioneer is making hard work of this sale, starting prices are WAY TOO HIGH for an online auction, in Ebay and shop price territory.... people are paying high prices. But he also look amazed when he cant sell a cheapo circus wagon for £40 + fees + postage.... or a Stainz for £60

I suppose he has to try and 'talk it up'?

I must not look...
The takings from the show must go in the bank!
:D :D :D

no, just quite arrogant compared to many and got out of the wrong side of bed, Got aggressive with one of his employees for putting the wrong details up when they didnt. Wouldnt like to work for the guy as we would fall out quite quick :punch: ! Think he has also had a go at ge_rik ge_rik for putting his dirty mug on an £500 ikea sideboard.

many other auctions would group three cheepo wagons together to sell... Few things now going to a "timed" auction on the saleroom

I'm only curious what the Garratt goes for, really..
Then trying to work out what the purchaser would actually have to pay?

I know the auction houses have costs to cover, but....

Best way i use to work out the cost is to take the final price x1.35 (30 to 32% fees and vat + an allowance for postage) for your final outlay. The higher the price you pay the lower this will be as postage wont be as steep.

So if someone pays TOP price of £4k for the Garret Allow £1400 extra for fees ! TOTAL £5400
(this makes auctions not very good placed for high ticket items like this) .

Or lower price of £2k allows a total outlay estimated around £2760 delivered.

Anyone lucky enough to win anything? Or was it just me……… got a couple of items on their way!!

Not me ..... But if I had been there, I might have been tempted to do it, just to annoy him...... :D

worth £3.8 (£5130 with fees) I think this one might struggle to sell at this starting price that the Auctioneer has set as a minimum. Its not a loco I know much about to be honest, how much was it new ?

A few items have appeared on eBay with quite a considerable mark up……..

There is the added eBay buyers protection fee, this is added to the sellers price.
Ebay butyer protection fee is pennys in the pound in reality now, Its funny I think the "auction" side of ebay no longer the way to sell anything as this can attract fees, Flat rate is the best way. Also be aware if you sell anything internationally its not free like the UK stuff.

But as someone said to me once, Ebay is for "bargains" so the items on there should be reasonably priced even with a little mark up.
