Bachmann Railtruck

The Bachmann Railtruck was introduced a few years ago, if I am correct. At that time there was quite a bit of discussion, on the various forums, about some mechanical difficulties with them. I cannot recall what the problems were as I had little interest in them at that time.
However, as I was browsing through the pages of our beloved Ebay, I spotted a few that Al Kramer has for sale at what appears to be a very reasonable price. Here is the link to Ebay, USA, for anyone who might be interested.

Absolutely right Ross, I bought one from 2 Jags about 2 months ago, cost £110 plus next day delivery at £10 - really good deal I thought at £120 all in, its just having a DCC sound decoder fitted - great deal and a superb loco

I was considering one of these too, obviously Bachmann have released another batch but Madman's concerns have caused me to pause for thought. Also have they upgraded the drive mechanism on this model too , as they have on other recent re releases ?

I think theres a report about this problem on George Shreyers site - something to do with too short a screw in the gearbox, which is easily sorted by using some existing screws that fit into the spare snowplow unit ? I think thats right
