The actual blue is a lot darker than my camera has produced here, it is a deep GER blue. I love it, Mrs NHN loves it, GHW hates it.....

It looks fantastic whatever the colour.

Ere are you getting a déjà vu feeling Neil?

I'm sure John tested his at yours on purpose :rolf:
I wuz enticed, yer honour.....8D

Neil is the coupling on Cale higher than the coaches? I thought all the IoM stock had the higher coupling like Caledonia until I borrowed my friends coaches last weekend and found they were the same height as the W&L stock.
I lowered my Cale's couplings to match everything else as a result. You can see the original bolts just above the coupling, just need a dab of red paint.

Poor old Neil, and hats off to John too for his superb sales technique

The Caledonia in blue looks good, I prefer the MNR Red livery, but blue shows a different side to the engine, and far better than the plain Indian red livery.

Looking forward to seeing the Caledonia in steam some time to see how it runs, but not sure if it will temp me to go live steam though....

Yes Paul, the Cale couplings are at 'IoM' height - the coaches have two sets of holes, they come at 'W&L' height, but are easily moved higher - I have a 'converter' coach with one of each at alternate ends, but will move the Cale couplings down in the fullness of time!

DLJ, I hope to have a get together before TT if all goes to plan - you are of course invited! I'll let you know. I need to finish the new steaming-up area first!

The lining on the MNR livery is just too fussy for me, too many twiddly bits, looks like a fairground ride. The indian red is OK, maybe a bit plain, but I think she would look very nice black, however the blue seems very popular outside of IoMR circles!!!! The L&L ordered the loco in blue in deference to her scottish build, and the traffic manager's mixed scots/manx ancestry! ;)

I am of course now ex-communicated.:rolf:

Can't think of anything else to say...

I had the pleasure of running my Indian Red one last night with some of the staff from the Isle of Man Railway who had helped with the research into this model. I was really pleased to give her the first run with the R/C fitted, a breathtakingly beautiful moment as she chuffed off to Foxdale with the first train for many years. The new Accucraft front end design is really doing the business, and with the large drivers and long stroke she just sort of has a sedate air about her if the regulator isn't open too wide.

General opinion from everyone who has seen her in the flesh :

Happy steamings,

John

The smooth 'right sounding' unfussy running is what is getting me worried
I DAREN'T go steam.....:@

I'll bet RoundHouse have a sweat on looking at this beauty.
