Blue, blue, electric (well, steam) blue - Caledonia again!

oh er all the caladonia chit chat has spurned some running here - altho electric

How can we not need one,but I mustn't...I've got to control myself....I have no room in me cabinet so I'm definately not getting one...I mustn't, I mustn't........:wits::wits: ......Help!

The shots from 1m 16s are amazing. She has slightly uneven valve settings to add to the atmosphere.

This is TORTURE!
Isn't there some law about it? 8D

That's John's own engine, not mine! The blue one is mine - much nicer......IMHO!

Well what can I say other than:
 to Neil for the video and the pioneering fitting the Chuffer
 to John and all who made this Accucraft loco possible
And that I want one....
And that it is the wrong gauge for me ............
And that maybe I should build another railway .............
Three cheers:D
Chris

I have to say that in the flesh, so to speak, the chuffer is even louder than it appears in the video - the burner was up high as it was a full load test train shot (hence the junk in the wagons!) which needed the gauge to be on the red line.

Chris, how about a third rail....they did it on Snaefell.....

Oh, dear. This is a bit of a problem... I had sworn off new locos for a while, but this is really a beauty. Those tall, graceful driving wheels are something lovely to watch in motion. And, if the Peacock uses the same valve design, I think that will be a truly lovely loco. Hmmm. Now, where did I put me dealer's phone number... Must resist, must resist.

Is there room for a whistle?

Can anyone give me a low down as to which stock has which height couplers please? With regards to the likkle blue one and the baggers diesel?

The Accucraft Isle of Man locos have their couplings set at a 1:20.3 scale IOM height, a bit higher than normal 1:19 scale height used by Accucraft, Roundhouse, and I P Engineering to name but a few.

The Isle of Man coaches have the couplings set to standard 1:19 height, but also have holes in the headstocks to easily re set the couplings to Isle of Man height.

All other Accucraft locos and stock have the couplings set at the standard 1:19 scale height.

It is quite simple to have an 'adaptor' coach with couplings at IOM height at one end to go onto an IOM loco and couplings at the other end at 1:19 height to tie on the rest of you stock.

Hope this helps.

Happy steamings,

John

I have very limited experience of the two heights of Accucraft chopper couplings, but what I have suggests that vehicles with different height couplings may be coupled together without problem.

I find that it works "sometimes"(!) and so I use the "match truck" arrangement as suggested by John.
It saves tears:bigsmile:

I can't see why people would want to lower the coupler as they are easier to use at IOM height and look much better.....snip<
That's easy to answer - I have one loco with high couplings, and about 30 items of Accucraft rolling stock with low couplings...... and a full time job, a second job, a wife, a home and 6 motorbikes to clean too!!! &:
