Bridge maintenance, or a short update from G&SLR

The G&SLR has two timber trestles and whilst the main fabric of the structures are sound the walkways have suffered some deterioration.. This is Bridge 2235.

Bridge 8 has received repairs and the little fingers in this shot may have had more than a little to do with the missing planks..

Looks excellent to me. No need for any maintenance there.
 
Great - very effective and nice to see some real life maintenance... one of the charms of working in the outdoors with real materials.
 
It's been a bit of a slow start this year with other projects and family (oh and work) getting in the way. It's been a funny old day here though with Britannia twice, 20's and a 73 on the East Coast Main Line plus all the usual engineers stuff floating around causing interruptions. I did get more done though and actually mixed some concrete to finish a bit of trackbed that needed a little more substance than it had.
