Has anyone ever used Brittains Toys on their outdoor railways? I can remember them from my childhood, and thought their stuff may be suitable?

Built to 1/32 scale. Excellent if you want a farming theme for US 1/29 and G1. Had one of their combine harvesters placed on a fine cut lawn or as a load when I ran USAT and Aristocraft. 1/16 scale stuff (standard for higher detail farming models) better if you are decorating a 16mm layout. Max.

In addition to 1:32 there also seems to be a medium size of 1:24.

1:24, I believe, is the size most likely to fit with the majority of this Forums users.

However, there seems plenty of choice for everyone.

Looking at the link the larger Britains items are scaled t 1/16. Schleich is mentioned a lot here and is shown on the link as 1/24. Playmobile do a lot of useful items that could be kitbashed into something of more scale/less toylike appearance.

When I was looking for a suitable load for one of my flat wagons, I bought a couple of their ploughs secondhand. They are under scale but mounted on a wagon and suitably weathered they look OK as sort of miscellaneous farming equipment on a rural railway.

quite like the look of the walls they do http://www.farmtoysonline.co.uk/authentic-stone-walling-132/p2134

My concern might be the durability (U/V resistant, etc`) with these items for prolonged outdoor use. I think you need to be more specific when asking the question as to what will suit out of the Britains range. If walls are what you are looking for something like this http://www.grsuk.com/Retaining_Wall_60mm_High-M5550 might be more suited.
I have a few of these. Other makes are available, Cain Howley do them too I think.
