OK, so back to the first two buildings - now joined at the hip

The fronts tend to lean and separate at the top - mainly because the base is three pieces of treated timber, held together with a metal strap underneath.
If they don't lean together once I've filled them up to window cill level with pea shingle, I'll look at tying them together somehow
I've stuck 'em out in the town and they don't look right.Could you pre-load the metal strap (bend the outer ends upwards a bit)? The store seems ever so slightly off plane compared to its' partner - given that there is a seesaw effect on the bench (the pivot point being where they are joined.

Sharrafter do something when it's dryer and warmer.
Looks like it was the same builder who built round here!
Discovered the wall under the stairs (triangle, with a ceiling-height rectangle at the end), not that big.. Has between 1/8" and 1 3/4" thickness of plaster on it!!
Straight-edge says it is fairly flat, so it is the brickwork that is 'off'.
In the construction industry, we call it toleranceSo it isn't just paint that covers a multitude of sins?
And the builder's name would have been Jerry - widely travelled I believe (judging by the walls in our cottage!).
And using a saw to correct the former usually results in the latter... something is either two firkin long, or two firkin small ...
Yes, well, sometimes impatience takes over, and you want some instant results.
So a few weeks ago I bought a couple of LGB Wild West building kits from Ebay Mike, and then SWMBO bought me a Piko building kit for my birthday the ACME liqour store, which I'd like to re-name if poss.
Interestingly, and possibly unsurprisingly, the Piko building is of exactly the same manufacture, construction details, size, etc as the LGB two.
They are quite simple kits, and I'll post a piccy or two, but there are two main challenges:
All of the LGB/Piko/Pola pictures of these and similar buildings show them scattered randomly around the place, but looking at my photos of Skagway, the buildings nestle together. OK, given that I've only got three buildings and probably only room to put two side by side, we're not going to end up with a massive township like Mike (Beavercreek); however, even if the concept is slightly tongue in cheek, I do want it to look essentially credible
- to fix everything down so that it doesn't blow away
- to fix two of the buildings closely together side-by-side

aka 'the persuader'A saw? I find a hammer usually sufficies!
I am quite safe - it was the dotter's cast off and I saved it for the beech - I said beech, not beach - no, I'm not planning on making surf boards from itDoes SWMBO know your using her chopping board?
Anyway, enough of this frivolity
It's looking better - just got to make the hitching rail
