Cats fouling my garden.

It's all about (S)catology - or so it seems! There's even a song (Camptown Races) with Doo-da in the lyrics.

If el-moggo is digging in your mulched area or soft soil spots bury a few loaded mouse traps with the mechanism downwards, carefully place so as not to trigger them, then cover with mulch or soil.
When old mate goes to dig or even walks across the ground it will set off the mouse trap which will spring out of the ground (like the jumping jack mine) and scare it off.
As cats do not like confrontation this generally works.
It worked with SWMBOs cat when it was using my vege patch as a dunny (quite entertaining to watch a cat leap feet in the air) it still won't go near the patch even after 5 years.

I do have a cat repellent recipe but it is on the work server and I keep forgetting to get it.
If I remeber I'll send myself an email to remind me to send it home works a treat I've tested on SWMBOs moggy by accident of course ("trust me love it was really an accident honest" ;) ;))

And she will believe that?

Edited post script - my avatar thingy is showing the US flag ATM; I’m only passing through, back in Oz in a couple of weeks.

As promised here is the recipe for a cat repellant for your wiewing pleasure/ deployment.

Cat Repellent

1. Ingredients;

5 crushed chilli (the hotter the better),

3 tablespoons of cinnamon powder (or 1 stick of cinnamon),

3 tablespoons of rosemary (fresh or dried, if not 2 teaspoon rosemary oil) and

3 tablespoons of dried lavender (2 teaspoon of lavender oil)

2. Place 3 cups of boiling water in a heatproof container. Cover the container and allow the mixture to steep for several hours (it is better if left overnight).

3. Strain through a fine mesh lined with clean cheesecloth.

4. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and add 3/4 cup of vinegar to the mixture, with 15 drops of lemon or orange essential oil and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid.

5. Shake the spray bottle to thoroughly to blend the ingredients.

6. Spray the cat repellent spray wherever you want to repel cats, avoid spraying the mixture directly on plant foliage.

It has been tested and is effective just ask my old mate el-moggo (see post 44).
