Changing from G scale DCC to 16mm battery power.

The Deltang Selecta function is a very clever idea, but, it does waste one channel I need for sound triggers.
I use Model Radio Workshop R/C switches for all sorts of things, and get one or two function triggers per channel. Plus automatic constant brightness directional lighting control.
Once bound, a Deltang Tx and Rx should never need rebinding.

I live in an alternative world Tony, a slightly simpler one for a person of much simpler brain - it doesn't function at all :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I have only just started to dabble with sound in the larger models, but with some of my smaller R/C models, there's only just room for the electrical gubbins o_O

Mind you, I could go Li-po I hear a squeal from the back, but having started with Ni-mh and being happy with what it does for me, I wasn't ready to embrace the Li-po / Li-on technology.

The blissful life of a simpleton :smoke::smoke::smoke::smoke:

That said - I'm impressed and happy with the Deltang kit, and it's even easier with a combined ESC / Rx :clap::clap:

Well, here we are then. Battery power and no more track cleaning. All my DCC equipment is gone and in it's place so far we have a Mamod Loco, a small match truck and the ubiquitous Accucraft wagon. The loco is manual control ATM but will be R/C'd when I get some more cash. I've also ordered a couple of kits from HGLW.

The deltang system is great for having the facility to control up to 12 locos from one controller. I have some battery and some RC control live steam locos bound to the one transmitter.
But I have also got battery Rc with the Aristo/Crest Revolution system. The handset is very good with many function options and you can have up to 99 different locos stored in one transmitter handset. The Revolution loco based receivers also have pretty good digital sound onboard as well.
I have mucked about with RC DCC (using Tam valley equipment and later, Revolution's RC DCC system).

I have too many locos to 'batterize' them all and I also have to factor in the fact that the inclines on my layout preclude having a trailing battery wagon for the steamers (including the tender!)... so it is either trying to fit batteries inside the loco boiler or just do the diesels.

The other thing is, if you have a lot of battery locos and you need the extra ooompf from non low-discharge batteries you really do need to make sure that they do not run flat while being stored.
